Holiday Closings Notice
Drake University offices, including all School of Education Extension Education offices, will be closed during the following times:
Thanksgiving - Thursday and Friday, November 27-28, 2008 (Re-opening Monday, December 1, 2008)
Winter Break - Monday, December 22, 2008 – Friday, January 2, 2008 (Re-opening Monday, January 5, 2009)
This will affect the following:
Registrations
You may register on-line during this time. Please be aware that your registration will not be processed until the office re-opens. You may experience a delay in receiving your course materials if you are a video course student. However, on-line students will receive their packages approximately a week and a half prior to the start of each class, as always.
Registrations that are mailed or faxed in will not be processed until the office reopens. There will be a delay in receiving your materials, unless you are an on-line student. On- line students will receive their course packet approximately one and a half weeks before the start of their course, as always.
Mail Delivery
The United States Postal Service will deliver mail to the postal distribution center on campus. However, mail will not be transferred to its final destination until the offices reopen.
Packages sent by delivery services (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) will be accepted and signed for at a central location, but will not be distributed to specific departments until university offices reopen.
Expedited Grading
The expedited grading policy promises that your grade will be entered into the system in five business days of receipt by the Distance Learning Center. Please note that days that the office is closed are not considered business days. In addition, while your coursework may reach Drake University during the winter break, it will not be delivered to the Distance Learning Center until the offices have re-opened, which will delay the start of your expedited grading time line.
Thank you for using this information to plan your studies so that Drake University’s academic schedule has minimal impact on the completion of your goals.

About Extension Education Courses
Our courses, even though numbered EDEX 100 and EDEX 200, are all graduate level. The prefix, EDEX, is the subject code, indicating the courses are extension courses offered through Extended Campus Programs in the School of Education. Up to six hours can be used as electives, with advisor approval, in several graduate programs within the Drake University, School of Education.
